Golf course communities are among the most pleasant places to live in the whole of the USA. The are set in spectacular green surroundings, they are built with comfort and luxury very much in mind. There are many different variations on the basic theme, making it possible to plan your retirement in just the right surroundings for you. Of course, golf course developments are also suitable for people who are not retired, especially those who work as successful freelancers or who work from home in a business.

This doesn't necessarily mean people who run their own business from home, although those that do obviously enjoy a greater degree of freedom. Many corporate workers are now able to operate out of their homes, and this trend is likely to grow stronger as time goes by. Fuel prices are high, and likely to remain so, while the technology of communication is getting better and cheaper all the time. It will not be long before video technology allows a projector to display the image of one office on the wall of another one on the other side of the world, and allow the people in the offices to work as if they were in the same building.

If you are a corporate worker from home, you will probably need to remain in a location which is fairly near to your employer. Otherwise, you will be able to choose exactly where you live. The USA is a big country, and many people are reluctant to move away from everything they know and the people they care about. The good news is that communication technology advances make this less of a problem, as you can still see and talk to your loved ones as though they were there.

The most important factor is deciding where you want to live, as every state has these golf course communities. Once you know the area, you can begin to look at what is on offer. There are many different types of community, from those which are simple rows of houses built next to a golf course, to those which are built on a plantation golf course, to those which have been built from nothing and built up to feature a wide variety of activities and entertainments.

Golf course communities can be ideal places for the keen golfer to live, but it is vital to make sure there is something for the other family members as well. Only you will know whether there is anyone in your family who will need another type of entertainment to keep them satisfied. Maybe the rel;axing atmosphere and the country air will be enough for them, while you make your way around the course?
